Professor Cyrus Phantomorious, a nationally renowned scientist specializing in Research on paranormal activity, is scheduled to arrive in San Antonio in early 2026 to investigate reported hauntings in the former Restful Sleep Hotel.
During the decades it was in business, the hotel became the site of numerous macabre incidents, including several still-unexplained deaths.
Its doors were permanently locked on October 27 1948 – exactly 53 years after the day it opened. Today, the building which housed the beautiful Restful Sleep Hotel stands abandoned, dark and empty – except, as some city residents claim, for the ghosts which still inhabit the many rooms and hallways.
Assisting Professor Phantomorious in his paranormal research will be his assistant, Dr.Nerion Grito. Their ultimate goal is to determine, once and for all, if any paranormal activity actually exists within the building.
In a recent exclusive interview with the Monitor, Professor Phantomorious stated: “I have investigated many haunted environments, but none has equaled the absolutely horrifying history of the Restful Sleep Hotel. Many bizarre residents called the hotel home and met terrifyingly grotesque deaths in their rooms. The tales of what happened within the walls of the Restful Sleep Hotel are truly appalling. It is possible that the same evil energy still remains in the building. If so, I intend to document it.”
When asked for specifics about the various deaths, the Professor was guarded. “The Individual events which occurred throughout the hotel are far too monstrous to be described in a family newspaper. But as our research continues, we will be documenting the various residents in an attempt to verify all accounts of the circumstances of their uncanny deaths. Then we will share some of those details with the public. Our state-of- the-art scientific detection equipment will identify any paranormal phenomena. If such phenomena is discovered, we plan to invite the public into the old hotel to study reactions to the unknown, malevolent energies which may still exist.”
The Monitor will follow up with stories about the hotel’s creepy history as well as developments regarding the Professor’s investigation of paranormal activities as he tries to separate fact from fiction.
